But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fausto Arruda couldn't finish the play. André Luís Loureiro scored 0-2 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Doctor Sócrates, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 19 minutes, Rômulo Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monsaras SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rômulo Lima was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rômulo Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doctor Sócrates having to interfere. Doctor Sócrates was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Monsaras SC played a much better game than Impávido Galcölosso EC and deserved their victory. The Impávido Galcölosso EC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
