Aníbal Marinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 8th minute Hélder Donatello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinho Arósio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jano de Barros hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Claudinho Arósio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélder Donatello in the 14th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, CR Fla Chelsea's goal looked a bit too open when Aníbal Marinho came free, but Claudinho Arósio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Cratheus SS booed when CR Fla Chelsea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramiro Bertassi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute, Flavinho Quirino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hélder Donatello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Claudinho Arósio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Flavinho Quirino during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Cléber Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cratheus SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Cléber Gomes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinho Arósio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hélder Donatello made a kick off. After 52 played minutes CR Fla Chelsea got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Bertassi. In the 61st minute, Aníbal Marinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cícero Valadares during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cícero Valadares struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Doriva Marques didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CR Fla Chelsea. After 68 played minutes CR Fla Chelsea got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Bertassi. If Cícero Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aníbal Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Claudinho Arósio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal Marinho in the 86th minute of play forced CR Fla Chelsea's goalkeeper Claudinho Arósio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudinho Arósio came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Cratheus SS's Aníbal Marinho. But to his dismay, Aníbal Marinho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind CR Fla Chelsea's goalkeeper Claudinho Arósio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to CR Fla Chelsea getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Flavinho Quirino hit a great ball. Cratheus SS's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
