Mazinho Mattos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Edu Machado showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Boiúna Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Mazinho Mattos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Corrêa. 9 minutes into the match, Águia Branca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Medeiros came free, but Célio Cerezo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Paulo Sabóia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Mazinho Mattos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Pedro Luís França fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Águia Branca FC's protests and gave Pedro Luís França a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th minute, Pedro Luís França hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute Vânderson Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Célio Cerezo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Corrêa might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mazinho Mattos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Corrêa ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 26th minute Zé Paulo Sabóia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mazinho Mattos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boiúna Futebol Clube's Mazinho Mattos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Paulo Sabóia in the 29th minute of play. Edu Machado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Mazinho Mattos made a huge save. In the 40th minute, Edu Machado reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mazinho Mattos. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Boiúna Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Mazinho Mattos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. João Meirelles hit a great ball. In the 72nd minute of the match, Vânderson Lima got a very nice opportunity to score, but Célio Cerezo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Edu Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mazinho Mattos having to interfere. João Corrêa's late challenge caught a Boiúna Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Corrêa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 79th match minute, Águia Branca FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Corrêa to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Jonas Medeiros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Célio Cerezo was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edu Machado in the 83rd minute of play forced Boiúna Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Mazinho Mattos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edu Machado took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mazinho Mattos. Mazinho Mattos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. A collision led to Boiúna Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Luís Carneiro hit a great ball. Zé Paulo Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 95 minutes into the match, Boiúna Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Paulo Sabóia came free, but Mazinho Mattos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Águia Branca FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
