An unexpectedly hard shot by Dieguinho Breckenfeld in the 13th minute of play forced Canoas United's goalkeeper Nelson Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nestor Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Guimarães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Camaquam FC's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Guimarães came free, but Nestor Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Pedrinho Brasil fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Camaquam FC's protests and gave Pedrinho Brasil a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Camaquam FC's Pedrinho Brasil got a free kick in the 21st minute. Celso Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nestor Veiga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nestor Marques having to make a save. 30 minutes into the match, Donato Barral notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Canoas United's Nelson Neto. Nelson Neto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 38th minute, Donato Barral left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Camaquam FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Nelson Neto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Barral, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

After having played for 83 minutes, Celso Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canoas United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celso Guimarães was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nestor Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Marques having to interfere.
