The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Celso Guimarães stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A sloppy throw-in by Kléber Donatello in the 58th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Canoas United's Alan dos Santos. In the 59th minute, Celso Guimarães made a precise shot to the right of Miguel Sanches. Seleção's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nelson Neto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
