Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcelinho Silveira struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Jem Chlebek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Seleção. The supporters of Seleção booed when Bella Ginga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Leão didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Seleção's Marcelinho Silveira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jem Chlebek. Jem Chlebek yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 29 minutes into the game, Flavinho Jacinto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jem Chlebek was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 33rd minute Flavinho Jacinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jem Chlebek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Sanches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitinho Pimenta in the 36th minute of play. Seleção's Miguel Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lenílson de Almeida in the 39th minute of play. Jem Chlebek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelinho Silveira in the 41st minute. Seleção's Dieguinho Severo got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcelinho Silveira was the one to do the kick off. Seleção's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
