Pirajai EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cássio Queiroz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diamantino Zonta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cássio Queiroz was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Saycan FC got a freekick which was hit by Válter Netto. With a little luck, Pirajai EC's Alex Gaúcho got control of the ball when Henrique Soares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Henrique Soares who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Alex Gaúcho when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 60 minutes into the game, João Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saycan FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pirajai EC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Saycan FC's João Santos got a free kick in the 60th minute. A collision led to Saycan FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Cristóvão de Amorim hit a great ball. A sloppy throw-in by João Santos in the 72nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Pirajai EC's Cássio Queiroz. João Santos made in the 76th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Pirajai EC's Cássio Queiroz. Pirajai EC's Alex Gaúcho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Pirajai EC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Luís Mota in the 78th minute of play forced Pirajai EC's goalkeeper Alex Gaúcho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacinto Barreto hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. André Luís Mota recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alex Gaúcho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Henrique Soares went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Pirajai EC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
