When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Zé Augusto Ferraz put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Sandrinho Gerber. 23 minutes into the match, Erivaldo Furlan notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Papary EC's Jorge Zonta. Jorge Zonta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Papary EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Romário Fernandes scored to the left of an out of position Jorge Zonta, making the score, 2-1. Jorge Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário Fernandes in the 30th minute of play. Amadeu Rossi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandrinho Gerber having to interfere. After a rather tough play, The Walking Dead's Bernardo Couto got a free kick in the 33rd minute. 37 minutes into the match, The Walking Dead's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano Leal came free, but Sandrinho Gerber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sandrinho Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeu Rossi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Pedro Pitta hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Zé Augusto Ferraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amadeu Rossi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romário Fernandes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Romário Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Zonta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Papary EC's Jorge Zonta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erivaldo Furlan in the 54th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, The Walking Dead's goalkeeper Sandrinho Gerber had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amadeu Rossi. Erivaldo Furlan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorge Zonta having to make a save. Zé Augusto Ferraz hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Romário Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Zonta having to interfere. Silas Medeiros's late challenge caught a The Walking Dead's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silas Medeiros helped the player get up and apologised. In the 75th match minute, Papary EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baltazar de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. Jorge Zonta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário Fernandes in the 76th minute of the match. Reynaldo Tinoco kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. The Walking Dead's Sandrinho Gerber proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save The Walking Dead from getting a goal against them. Zé Paulo Teixeira hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute, Zé Augusto Ferraz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sandrinho Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltazar de Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the game, Baltazar Sanches was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Walking Dead's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Papary EC the free kick. After a rather tough play, The Walking Dead's Baltazar Sanches got a free kick in the 96th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Zé Augusto Ferraz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Papary EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Augusto Ferraz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sandrinho Gerber breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Walking Dead's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
