After having played for 47 minutes, Edu Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juqueri's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edu Amaral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Olavo Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Elói Araújo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edu Amaral's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Edu Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Juqueri's supporters rose to their feet, but Edu Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elói Araújo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Duda Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elói Araújo having to interfere. If Duda Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elói Araújo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edu Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christian Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Elói Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
