Sandrinho Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dino Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Sandrinho Gerber didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cleiton Dracena went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Elias Cosme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dino Urbano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sandrinho Gerber having to make a save. Sandrinho Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Sandrinho Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sandrinho Gerber stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dino Urbano's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Walking Dead's goalkeeper Sandrinho Gerber, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Romário Fernandes made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Edgard Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meriti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgard Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Franklin Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Meriti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franklin Queirós couldn't finish the play. 59 minutes into the match, The Walking Dead's goalkeeper Sandrinho Gerber had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgard Amorim. If Dino Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 63rd minute Elias Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dino Urbano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Sandrinho Gerber made a huge save. Dino Urbano might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sandrinho Gerber. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dino Urbano ran back to his position shaking his head. Elias Cosme blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sandrinho Gerber having to make a save. In the 70th minute, Elias Cosme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 73rd minute, Reynaldo Tinoco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes into the match, Romário Fernandes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Téo Rezende. Meriti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romário Fernandes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Meriti's Téo Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erivaldo Furlan in the 79th minute of play. Dino Urbano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sandrinho Gerber made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Dino Urbano sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Paulo Teixeira during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 94 played minutes The Walking Dead got a freekick which was hit by Zé Paulo Teixeira. When the final whistle sounded Meriti left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than The Walking Dead.
