Emanuel Velasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabinho Neiva in the 16th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Preguica's Fabinho Neiva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emanuel Velasco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Fabinho Neiva got in the 23rd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Emanuel Velasco handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Yan Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Paulo Azevedo having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 32nd minute by Luiz Fabiano Chaves got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a defensive mix-up in Preguica's zone, Yan Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Paulo Azevedo came out of the goal and Yan Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 34 played minutes Preguica got a freekick which was hit by Rubinho Correia. Luiz Fabiano Chaves scored 1-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luís Paulo Azevedo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 41 minutes into the game, Canutão Borges FC's Zézinho Capixaba nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís Paulo Azevedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Yan Montenegro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Luís Paulo Azevedo came out and tried to block the shot, but Yan Montenegro slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The wind increased when Fabinho Neiva made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabinho Neiva in the 53rd minute of play forced Canutão Borges FC's goalkeeper Emanuel Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emanuel Velasco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabinho Neiva in the 54th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Luiz Fabiano Chaves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luís Paulo Azevedo was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. In the 96th minute, Zézinho Capixaba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
