After 2 minutes, Faustão Arruda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canutão Borges FC and the Oliveira Castro players grew even worse after the yellow card. Yan Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Romário de Moraes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yan Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Oliveira Castro getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Juan Sena hit a great ball. Jonas de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Velasco having to interfere. In the 13th match minute, Oliveira Castro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdir Pires to maneuver through the defense. When Zézinho Capixaba came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Canutão Borges FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zézinho Capixaba couldn't finish the play. In the 23rd play minute Valdir Pires came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Emanuel Velasco. 1-0. When Ediberto de Brito fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Oliveira Castro's protests and gave Ediberto de Brito a yellow card for diving instead. The referee gave Canutão Borges FC a penalty, 28 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Olívio da Rocha, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Oliveira Castro's Romário de Moraes. 1-1. Oliveira Castro's Juan Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 44thth minute of the game Luiz Fabiano Chaves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Oliveira Castro's Romário de Moraes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 45th minute, Yan Montenegro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Romário de Moraes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Jonas de Amaral made the kick off in the second half. Valdir Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zézinho Capixaba kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Oliveira Castro's Valdir Pires sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emanuel Velasco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luiz Fabiano Chaves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romário de Moraes having to interfere. Yan Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Romário de Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Yan Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valdir Pires struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Emanuel Velasco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oliveira Castro. Valdir Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Emanuel Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Canutão Borges FC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Oliveira Castro's much stronger midfield.
