Oliveira Castro's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonas de Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erasmo Donato breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 22nd minute Carlos Eduardo Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romário de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romário de Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Eduardo Seco in the 24th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Bagacera Futebol Clube's zone, Valdir Pires stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erasmo Donato came out of the goal and Valdir Pires tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Eduardo Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romário de Moraes having to interfere. Romário de Moraes was out of position in the 33 minute of play, and Carlos Eduardo Seco capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Carlos Eduardo Seco really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Jonas de Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Armandinho Messias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erasmo Donato was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Valdir Pires managed to get in a good position for a shot. After 89 played minutes Oliveira Castro got a freekick which was hit by Armandinho Messias. In the 91st minute Oséias Bastos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romário de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erasmo Donato made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valdir Pires in the 94th minute. Erasmo Donato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Eduardo Seco in the 98th minute of play forced Oliveira Castro's goalkeeper Romário de Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oliveira Castro's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
