Rafa Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Cordeiro in the 3rd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Sandro Cordeiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sidney Pombal. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. Rafael Galvão's late challenge caught a Recordacao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rafael Galvão helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th minute, Rafael Galvão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 10 minutes into the match, Wágner Nascimento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rafa Marques. Palmas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wágner Nascimento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The Recordacao fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Recordacao's Roberto Cordeiro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rafa Marques didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roberto Cordeiro went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Recordacao's Duda Jacinto got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 38th minute, Roberto Cordeiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rafa Marques was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jânio Mendonça made a kick off. Rafa Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Palmas FC's Rafa Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Cordeiro in the 57th minute of play. Rafael Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Wágner Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Palmas FC's Sandro Cordeiro got a free kick in the 61st minute. After 62 played minutes Palmas FC got a freekick which was hit by Anderson Teles. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Roberto Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Recordacao's supporters rose to their feet, but Roberto Cordeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafa Marques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roberto Cordeiro got free with Rafa Marques in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 68th match minute, Recordacao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duda Jacinto to maneuver through the defense. After 69 played minutes, Palmas FC's Eduardo Mandrak shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sidney Pombal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Palmas FC reached it. In the 73rd minute Roberto Cordeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafa Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lúcio Berger in the 85th minute of play forced Palmas FC's goalkeeper Rafa Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jânio Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidney Pombal having to interfere. Wágner Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Rafa Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
