Fausto Figueiredo's late challenge caught a Pereiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fausto Figueiredo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Pereiro booed when Traicao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Figueiredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Pereiro's Charles Bertassi broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Tostão Mattos might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Belmiro Couto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tostão Mattos ran back to his position shaking his head. Andrézinho Cardoso hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 18 minutes into the match, Pereiro's Charles Bertassi broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Belmiro Couto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tostão Mattos, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Renatinho de Brito's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Belmiro Couto firmly grabbed it by the left post. Traicao's Belmiro Couto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tostão Mattos in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Tostão Mattos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Traicao's goalkeeper Belmiro Couto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sílvio Jacinto. A collision led to Pereiro getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Dorian Neto hit a great ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dito Zanette made a kick off. When Dito Zanette came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Traicao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dito Zanette couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Traicao getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Ademir Perez hit a great ball. In the 59th minute, Charles Bertassi sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Traicao's Belmiro Couto didn't even have to move. Marquinhos Velloso kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Belmiro Couto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tostão Mattos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Belmiro Couto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renatinho de Brito in the 71st minute of play. Pereiro's Tostão Mattos got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Jacinto in the 76th minute of play forced Traicao's goalkeeper Belmiro Couto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dito Zanette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joélson Ortiz having to interfere. Dito Zanette received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Joélson Ortiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Tostão Mattos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Waldir Luz hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Belmiro Couto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tostão Mattos's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. Pereiro were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
