Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Yan Montenegro started the match with the kick off. Emanuel Velasco came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Recordacao's Roberto Cordeiro. But to his dismay, Roberto Cordeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luiz Fabiano Chaves hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Roberto Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Recordacao's supporters rose to their feet, but Roberto Cordeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuel Velasco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 13thth minute of the game Roberto Cordeiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Canutão Borges FC's Emanuel Velasco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 22nd minute, Recordacao's Duda Jacinto seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Duda Jacinto the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Recordacao protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Duda Jacinto had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The goalkeeper, Sidney Pombal, was totally fooled by Canutão Borges FC's Olívio da Rocha, who 24 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The attack was good, but when Luiz Fabiano Chaves in the 29th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After having played for 33 minutes, Wágner Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Recordacao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wágner Nascimento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emanuel Velasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lúcio Berger in the 36th minute of play. After having played for 37 minutes, Régis Sanches managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Recordacao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Régis Sanches was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Canutão Borges FC's Emanuel Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lúcio Berger in the 38th minute of play. Wágner Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Canutão Borges FC's zone, Lúcio Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Velasco came out of the goal and Lúcio Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Lúcio Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lúcio Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Velasco having to interfere. Paulo Meireles kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Wágner Nascimento made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match Raimundo Galvão sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sidney Pombal skillfully saved the ball. Sidney Pombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fabiano Chaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Fabiano Chaves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sidney Pombal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Tomé Mota scored 1-2 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Emanuel Velasco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Emanuel Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wágner Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Canutão Borges FC's Zézinho Capixaba got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Luiz Fabiano Chaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Sidney Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Recordacao were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Canutão Borges FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Roberto Cordeiro took the corner. The corner ended in Roberto Cordeiro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Canutão Borges FC's Emanuel Velasco did a great save. After 89 played minutes Recordacao got a freekick which was hit by Wágner Nascimento. Régis Sanches fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Velasco having to interfere. Wágner Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Emanuel Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Fabiano Chaves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidney Pombal having to interfere. Recordacao's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
