The referee ignored De Sá - ADEUS MZ's protests and gave Luisão Ferreira a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Palmas FC booed when De Sá - ADEUS MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisão Ferreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Durval Quintal to make the kick off. Jânio Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Dinei Donatello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 55th minute Sandro Cordeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Donatello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 58 minutes on the clock, Romário Sena commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee showed Gildo Senna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to De Sá - ADEUS MZ getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Gildo Senna hit a great ball. Dinei Donatello didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jânio Mendonça went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 87th minute Jânio Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Donatello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. De Sá - ADEUS MZ's Dinei Donatello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jânio Mendonça in the 90th minute of play. Humberto Tavares might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafa Marques. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Humberto Tavares ran back to his position shaking his head. When the final whistle went the supporters of De Sá - ADEUS MZ were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Palmas FC side.
