The referee ignored A.E.Santacruzense's protests and gave João Vítor Branco a yellow card for diving instead. 5 minutes into the game, one of A.E.Santacruzense:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. A collision led to Red Dragon getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Olívio Varela hit a great ball. After 12 played minutes A.E.Santacruzense got a freekick which was hit by Wesley Loureiro. In the 16th minute, Bernardo Pimenta fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of William Simão, passed just outside the right post. After 19 played minutes, Red Dragon's Doni do Nascimento shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper William Simão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Red Dragon reached it. Virgílio Bezerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perivaldo Gerber in the 22nd minute of the match.
