With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cido Loyola in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zé Roberto Brito saved Tenentes from getting behind. In the 21st minute, Juvenal Veloso reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Zé Roberto Brito. The goal made the score 1-0. With a little luck, Tenentes's Zé Roberto Brito got control of the ball when Zé Pedro Pontes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 30th minute of the match Elias Neto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Augusto Garcia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Zé Roberto Brito stood somewhat misplaced when Cido Loyola came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 32 minute. Tenentes's Zé Roberto Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cido Loyola in the 37th minute of play. Cacá Correia charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cacá Correia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 38 minutes into the game, one of Tenentes:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Zé Roberto Brito had in the 40thth minute some difficulties stopping Belmiro Dionísio's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Zé Roberto Brito was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Pedro Luís Simões. In the 43rdth minute of the game Cido Loyola who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tenentes's Zé Roberto Brito was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cido Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Zé Roberto Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Antônio Carlos Guimarães made the kick off in the second half. Walmir Rosa hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Pesqueirao's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
