Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eurico Amaral started the match with the kick off. Mané Paulista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Owen in the 5th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Franklin Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Taurino Santana-Bauzá stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eurico Amaral's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Bruninho da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mané Paulista having to interfere. Flávio da Silveira hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 22 minutes into the match, Tortinho's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Owen came free, but Mané Paulista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 24 played minutes Tortinho got a freekick which was hit by Wesley Chaves. In the 26th minute Michael Owen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Paulista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mané Paulista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matías Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Tortinho's zone, Michael Owen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mané Paulista came out of the goal and Michael Owen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tortinho's Mané Paulista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Owen in the 34th minute of play. After 35 minutes Tortinho's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Matías Fernandes who took care of the corner kick. At last the ball reached Tony Carneiro at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Tortinho. 0-2. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Michael Owen put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Mané Paulista. 43 minutes into the match, Martirio AD's goal looked a bit too open when Eurico Amaral came free, but Taurino Santana-Bauzá reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Bruno Arruda fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Martirio AD's protests and gave Bruno Arruda a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tortinho booed when Martirio AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Tortinho players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Martirio AD were winning 0-3.

Taurino Santana-Bauzá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulysses Penha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wesley Chaves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christian Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eurico Amaral in the 60th minute of play forced Martirio AD's goalkeeper Taurino Santana-Bauzá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ulysses Penha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Martirio AD getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Bruno Arruda hit a great ball. If Eurico Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 70 minutes of play Tortinho's Wesley Chaves was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Tortinho getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Wesley Chaves hit a great ball. Michael Owen had several of the Tortinho's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 73 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-4 score and a disappointed Mané Paulista as he didn't even see the shot coming. Flávio da Silveira's late challenge caught a Tortinho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Flávio da Silveira helped the player get up and apologised. After some careless play in the Tortinho defense, Michael Owen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mané Paulista. The Tortinho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mané Paulista should have stopped the shot. Martirio AD played a much better game than Tortinho and deserved their victory. The Tortinho players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
