João Pedro Oliveira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alfredo Favoretto. Tulhas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gugu Correia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfredo Favoretto having to make a save. In the 7th minute, Inácio Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Richard Mazza struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Túlio Santana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tulhas. After 12 played minutes Tulhas got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fábio Tasso. Carioca AD's Ciro da Mata couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 13th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Tulhas. Alfredo Favoretto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusébio de Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Alfredo Favoretto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eusébio de Toledo went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gugu Correia in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfredo Favoretto saved Tulhas from getting behind. After 29 minutes of play, Carioca AD's Eusébio de Toledo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfredo Favoretto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alfredo Favoretto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio de Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the match, Gugu Correia notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Tulhas's Alfredo Favoretto. Alfredo Favoretto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gugu Correia in the 42nd minute of play forced Tulhas's goalkeeper Alfredo Favoretto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Serginho Vinhas kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Gugu Correia made the kick off in the second half. Carioca AD's Simão Araújo got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alfredo Favoretto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eusébio de Toledo went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Eusébio de Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfredo Favoretto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eusébio de Toledo's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eusébio de Toledo in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Favoretto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rubinho Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rubinho Loureiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Túlio Santana read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. A collision led to Carioca AD getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Simão Araújo hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Carioca AD's zone, Inácio Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Túlio Santana came out of the goal and Inácio Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
