Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Gugu Correia made the kick off which started today's match. When Paulo Renato Freitas fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Correntezas EC's protests and gave Paulo Renato Freitas a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Correntezas EC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Paulo Renato Freitas hit a great ball. The supporters of Carioca AD booed when Correntezas EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Mota didn't get a good kick on the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Correntezas EC's goal looked a bit too open when Romário Velloso came free, but Gerson Bittencourt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Correntezas EC's Gerson Bittencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simão Araújo in the 11th minute of play. With a little luck, Carioca AD's Túlio Santana got control of the ball when Diego Madureira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Silas Castro was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 13 minutes into the match. After 13 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Correntezas EC! After a long run with the ball, Ciro da Mata did a trick in the 16th minute in front of Correntezas EC's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 0-1. An impressive performance by Carioca AD's Ciro da Mata! Gerson Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio de Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Gugu Correia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Túlio Santana made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Aloísio da Cunha sent off a good shot on target. 26 minutes into the match, Gugu Correia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gerson Bittencourt. Correntezas EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gugu Correia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Dé Chaves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gerson Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gugu Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Correntezas EC's Gerson Bittencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio de Toledo in the 34th minute of play. Dé Chaves scored 1-2 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Túlio Santana, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aloísio da Cunha got free with Túlio Santana in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half Carioca AD were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aloísio da Cunha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as José Vítor Diniz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gerson Bittencourt. That made the score 1-3 in the 57 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simão Araújo in the 60th minute of play forced Correntezas EC's goalkeeper Gerson Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st match minute, Correntezas EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Madureira to maneuver through the defense. Aloísio da Cunha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Túlio Santana having to make a save. If Dé Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dé Chaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Túlio Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dé Chaves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gerson Bittencourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusébio de Toledo in the 80th minute of play. Correntezas EC's Gerson Bittencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gugu Correia in the 83rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eusébio de Toledo got free with Gerson Bittencourt in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Correntezas EC's Gerson Bittencourt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Correntezas EC from getting a goal against them. Simão Araújo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gerson Bittencourt came out and tried to block the shot, but Simão Araújo slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 92nd minute. In the 95th minute, Paulo Renato Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gerson Bittencourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gugu Correia in the 96th minute of play.
