Gugu Barreto came out of the goal and Gugu Correia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the game, Eusébio de Toledo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Gugu Barreto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 15th match minute, Império Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mazinho Fontes to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute, Faustão Félix made a precise shot to the right of Túlio Santana. Carioca AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Luís Fernando Prestes charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Gugu Barreto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Faustão Félix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gugu Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio de Toledo in the 90th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Império Futebol Clube's Olívio Cerezo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Túlio Santana. Túlio Santana yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-3. After a rather tough play, Império Futebol Clube's Mazinho Fontes got a free kick in the 95th minute. Império Futebol Clube were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
