Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The Merlin fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Merlin's Luiz Fabiano Domingues looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Merlin's Nildo de Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Moco SS's Nelsinho Machado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fabiano Domingues in the 9th minute of play. Carlos Eduardo de Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Patrick Urbano made a huge save. In the 14th minute, Moco SS's Evandro Nogueira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Patrick Urbano. Patrick Urbano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Nelsinho Machado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nildo de Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patrick Urbano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Eduardo de Barros in the 20th minute. Patrick Urbano didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 21st minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. Moco SS's Nelsinho Machado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fabiano Domingues in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Vítor Marquez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Nelsinho Machado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 32 minutes, Hílton de Salles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Moco SS and the Merlin players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hílton de Salles got his second yellow card in the match during the 35th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 36th match minute, Moco SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hílton de Salles to maneuver through the defense. Moco SS's Nelsinho Machado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nildo de Lima in the 39th minute of play. Luiz Fabiano Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Nelsinho Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patrick Queiroz took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nelsinho Machado. Nelsinho Machado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. After the first half Merlin were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

53 minutes into the match, Moco SS's goalkeeper Nelsinho Machado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Osvaldinho Batista. Nelsinho Machado was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nildo de Lima showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-4 in the 55 minute of play. After having played for 59 minutes, Luiz Fabiano Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merlin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fabiano Domingues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Patrick Urbano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Eduardo de Barros in the 65th minute of the match. Carlos Eduardo de Barros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patrick Urbano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Luiz Fabiano Domingues notched a goal, 2-5, to the right of Moco SS's Nelsinho Machado. Nelsinho Machado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 76 minutes into the match, Moco SS's goalkeeper Nelsinho Machado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nildo de Lima. Nelsinho Machado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Fabiano Domingues went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-6 was the resulting score. In the 85th match minute, Moco SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dráusio Freitas to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Moco SS's zone, Luiz Fabiano Domingues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nelsinho Machado came out of the goal and Luiz Fabiano Domingues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patrick Queiroz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nelsinho Machado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Fabiano Domingues went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-7 was the resulting score. When the final whistle sounded Merlin left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Moco SS.
