Erasmo Palmeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Claudinei Saldanha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Diamantino Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudinei Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hílton Munhoz having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, Leandro Dionísio notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Galo Junior's Hílton Munhoz. Hílton Munhoz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 33 minutes into the match, Galo Junior's goalkeeper Hílton Munhoz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leandro Dionísio. When Haroldo Camargo came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Galo Junior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroldo Camargo couldn't finish the play. Erasmo Palmeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeu Hoffmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 39 minutes, Claudinei Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cachorro Louco F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinei Saldanha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 40 minutes, Jairo Freire mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galo Junior and the Cachorro Louco F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Claudinei Saldanha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hílton Munhoz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Ivo Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cachorro Louco F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Ivo Sá was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hílton Munhoz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

52 minutes into the game, Cachorro Louco F.C.'s Dário Paiva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hílton Munhoz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Claudinei Saldanha scored 3-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hílton Munhoz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Galo Junior's Hílton Munhoz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivo Sá in the 62nd minute of play. Amadeu Hoffmann came free with the goalkeeper in the 71st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Erasmo Palmeira could save by the left post. Adalberto Sabóia was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 74 minutes into the match. Dinei Reis did an outstanding performance 77 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 3-3 to the right of an irritated Erasmo Palmeira in the goal. Amadeu Hoffmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Erasmo Palmeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hílton Munhoz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Aparecido in the 81st minute of play. Cachorro Louco F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hermínio Martins in the 83rd minute. Cachorro Louco F.C.'s Hermínio Martins was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hílton Munhoz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Hílton Munhoz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Dionísio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Cristiano Medeiros fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galo Junior's protests and gave Cristiano Medeiros a yellow card for diving instead. Alex Cosme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd match minute, Galo Junior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Haroldo Camargo to maneuver through the defense. In the 95thth minute of the game Alex Cosme who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Galo Junior's Hílton Munhoz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cachorro Louco F.C.'s Carlos Aparecido got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
