Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when David Seco took the kick off in the first half of the match. Hílton Munhoz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vítor Queirós in the 3rd minute of the match. 6 minutes into the game, David Seco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galo Junior's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FLAMENGO the free kick. After 6 played minutes Galo Junior got a freekick which was hit by David Seco. In the 7th minute, Gil Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amadeu Hoffmann scored 1-0 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hélder Faria, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 11 minutes into the game, FLAMENGO's Amauri Machado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hílton Munhoz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vítor Queirós in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hílton Munhoz saved Galo Junior from getting behind. Galo Junior's Hílton Munhoz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vítor Queirós in the 22nd minute of play. When Wesley Carvalho came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the FLAMENGO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wesley Carvalho couldn't finish the play. 28 minutes into the game, Vítor Queirós cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Hílton Munhoz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When FLAMENGO's Vítor Queirós in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Galo Junior's goalie prevented a goal. Hílton Munhoz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vítor Queirós's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. After 42 played minutes Galo Junior got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Freire. The Galo Junior players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FLAMENGO were winning 1-2.

Vítor Queirós recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Vítor Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the FLAMENGO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vítor Queirós couldn't finish the play. After having played for 54 minutes, Amadeu Hoffmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galo Junior's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amadeu Hoffmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sidney Diniz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hílton Munhoz came out and tried to block the shot, but Sidney Diniz slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 56th minute. In the 60th minute, Vítor Queirós reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hílton Munhoz. The goal made the score 1-4. 69 minutes into the match, Amauri Machado notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Galo Junior's Hílton Munhoz. Hílton Munhoz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 73 minutes into the match, Galo Junior's goal looked a bit too open when Vítor Queirós came free, but Hílton Munhoz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vítor Queirós didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-7 via right post in the game's 77th minute. FLAMENGO's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! The corner led FLAMENGO's Wesley Carvalho to fire away a dangerous shot which Hílton Munhoz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Amauri Machado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hílton Munhoz. Galo Junior's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amauri Machado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-8. Dário Xavier's late challenge caught a FLAMENGO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dário Xavier helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Galo Junior fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 88th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 91 minutes, FLAMENGO's Wesley Carvalho got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Hílton Munhoz. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Galo Junior's goalkeeper Hílton Munhoz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. FLAMENGO's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
