But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amauri Machado couldn't finish the play. Nelsinho Machado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vítor Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as FLAMENGO's Vítor Queirós slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nelsinho Machado. That made the score 4-0 after 36 minutes of play. Thanks to some nice moves Wesley Carvalho could shoot a difficult shot in the 42nd minute, which Nelsinho Machado however easily saved by the left post. In the 43rd play minute Wesley Carvalho came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Nelsinho Machado. 5-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vítor Queirós to make the kick off. Vítor Queirós hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute Evandro Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélder Faria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moco SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wesley Carvalho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0.
