In the 3rd match minute, Alexandria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Godoi to maneuver through the defense. Robinho do Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilton Nogueira in the 4th minute of play. When Léo Prestes fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alexandria's protests and gave Léo Prestes a yellow card for diving instead. Léo Prestes hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Adrianinho Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raimundo Neto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrianinho Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Raimundo Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Léo Prestes in the 20th minute of play. Robinho do Vale came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Real Scali's Walmyr Bastos. But to his dismay, Walmyr Bastos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 25th match minute, Real Scali was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique Prestes to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute, one of Real Scali:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Real Scali. Real Scali:s Raimundo Neto showed great skill when he stopped Waldemar Pinho:s penalty. Raimundo Neto came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Alexandria's Waldemar Pinho. But to his dismay, Waldemar Pinho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Adrianinho Gonçalves hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute of the match Real Scali got a corner. Alexandria's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nilton Nogueira ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Nilton Nogueira got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Robinho do Vale quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 36 minutes into the match, Alexandria's goalkeeper Robinho do Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolas Meireles. Léo Prestes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Raimundo Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Alexandria's goal looked a bit too open when Walmyr Bastos came free, but Robinho do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henrique Prestes kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. When Waldemar Pinho came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Alexandria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Waldemar Pinho couldn't finish the play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adalberto Hermes to strike the kick off in the second half. Robinho do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adalberto Hermes, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Waldemar Pinho came free with the goalkeeper in the 59th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Raimundo Neto could save by the left post. In the 60th minute of the match Alexandria got a corner. Real Scali's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. In the 66th minute Nilton Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robinho do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adhemar Azevedo in the 67th minute of play forced Alexandria's goalkeeper Robinho do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute, Adalberto Hermes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Robinho do Vale was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After 71 minutes, Nicolas Meireles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Scali and the Alexandria players grew even worse after the yellow card. Robinho do Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Hermes in the 83rd minute of the match. If Nilton Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
