When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Tomé Pombal put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Marcelo Brodel. The crowd rose to their feet as Jeferson Vasconcelos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Moisés Carioca. That made the score 2-1 in the 28 minute of play. Chico Munhoz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Moisés Carioca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. The supporters of Carnaubeir EC booed when Oudri Kanda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walmyr Bittencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
