Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Evandro Linhares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Hugo Montenegro made a huge save. Giru EC's Nicolas Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Evandro Linhares hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. When Hudson Paiva fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guayanazes SC's protests and gave Hudson Paiva a yellow card for diving instead. Washington Gomes missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 10 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Alfredinho Moreno right hand side. Nicolas Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredinho Moreno having to interfere. Rodolfo Arantes's late challenge caught a Giru EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodolfo Arantes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Giru EC booed when Guayanazes SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodolfo Arantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giru EC's Hugo Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrique Paraense in the 15th minute of play. Alfredinho Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hamílton Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute of the match Giru EC got a corner. Guayanazes SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hamílton Couto ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Giru EC's Laerte Nóbrega to fire away a dangerous shot which Alfredinho Moreno despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 26th minute, Hamílton Couto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfredinho Moreno was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. If Dida Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Varela in the 30th minute of play forced Guayanazes SC's goalkeeper Alfredinho Moreno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hugo Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrique Paraense in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Evandro Linhares notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Giru EC's Hugo Montenegro. Hugo Montenegro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nelson Cruz got free with Hugo Montenegro in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 40 minutes into the match, Giru EC's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Paraense came free, but Hugo Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chiquinho de Queirós hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Hugo Montenegro made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Evandro Linhares sent off a good shot on target.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hamílton Couto to strike the kick off in the second half. With his leg Alfredinho Moreno managed to avoid a goal in the 51stth minute, when Giru EC's Alexandre Varela fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Hamílton Couto came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Giru EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hamílton Couto couldn't finish the play. Guayanazes SC's Alfredinho Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Fonseca in the 58th minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Nicolas Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 70 played minutes, Guayanazes SC's Hudson Paiva shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hugo Montenegro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Guayanazes SC reached it. Giru EC's Hugo Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrique Paraense in the 72nd minute of play. In the 75th minute Evandro Linhares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Guayanazes SC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Dida Baptista hit a great ball. In the 77th minute, Alexandre Varela ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfredinho Moreno was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Hugo Montenegro came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Guayanazes SC's Nelson Cruz. But to his dismay, Nelson Cruz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Alfredinho Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Varela in the 90th minute of the match. Alfredinho Moreno stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hamílton Couto's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Giru EC's Hugo Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evandro Linhares in the 94th minute of play.
