Edmundo Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmyr da Silva having to interfere. Ediberto Favoretto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdomiro Nunes's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. RibeiroCity's Ediberto Favoretto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdomiro Nunes in the 64th minute of play. Nico Gonçalves's late challenge caught a RibeiroCity's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nico Gonçalves helped the player get up and apologised. After 92 played minutes NEWCASTLE got a freekick which was hit by Nico Gonçalves. Rodrigo de Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Ediberto Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. NEWCASTLE fully deserved thier win.
