Waldemar Tróia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredão Damião in the 38th minute of the match. Denílson Guedes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 46th minute of the match Wilson Neiva shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Waldemar Tróia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jorginho Lopes to make the kick off. In the 53rdth minute of the game Jorginho Lopes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Inter Porto Alegre's Claudinho Abraão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Claudinho Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorginho Lopes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilson Neiva hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Ice Boys Football's Caio Trancoso suffered a sprained foot after 62 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredão Damião during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Alfredão Damião hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Alfredão Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute Alfredão Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldemar Tróia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the game, Denílson Guedes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Waldemar Tróia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alfredão Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Waldemar Tróia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Denílson Guedes in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ice Boys Football's goalkeeper Waldemar Tróia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Denílson Guedes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Denílson Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldemar Tróia having to interfere. Jorginho Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Claudinho Abraão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredão Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 86 minutes, Jorginho Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ice Boys Football's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorginho Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Denílson Guedes took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Waldemar Tróia. Waldemar Tróia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Alfredão Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 93rd minute, Denílson Guedes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Waldemar Tróia was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SC Inter Porto Alegre had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
