Nicolas Saraiva took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hortêncio Dracena. Jurupari's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Oswaldo Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Júnior Veiga took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Claudinho Abraão. Claudinho Abraão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 47 played minutes SC Inter Porto Alegre got a freekick which was hit by Aloísio Silveira. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oswaldo Damião was the one to do the kick off.
