Rive's Tostão Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvinho Freire in the 18th minute of play. In the 24th minute, Paulão Proença made a precise shot to the right of Tostão Mendes. Rive's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Rive's Tostão Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvinho Freire in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th minute, Silvinho Freire left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Embirizal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Dito Palmeira struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Giovanni Branco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rive. 40 minutes into the match, Rive's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Neiva came free, but Tostão Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Tomé Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Embirizal's zone, Dito Palmeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovanni Branco came out of the goal and Dito Palmeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulão Proença in the 48th minute of play forced Rive's goalkeeper Tostão Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Embirizal were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 58th minute Paulão Proença shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tostão Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Silvinho Freire kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tostão Mendes. That made the score 0-4 in the 88 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Embirizal's Silvinho Freire got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Giovanni Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dito Palmeira in the 93rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulão Proença during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Embirizal had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
