The audience was convinced that Adalberto Torres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Beto Fantini was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Aikivida's Adalberto Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 7th minute Adalberto Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beto Fantini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Adalberto Torres ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Beto Fantini was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 14th minute, Adalberto Torres ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Beto Fantini was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Beto Fantini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luiz Cardozo in the 16th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Santo's goal looked a bit too open when Adalberto Torres came free, but Beto Fantini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Beto Fantini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalberto Torres in the 30th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Santo's Dedê Meireles got a free kick in the 31st minute. Beto Fantini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Beto Fantini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adalberto Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. The supporters of Aikivida booed when Santo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dedê Meireles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aikivida's Dimo Abeijon couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 36th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Santo. Beto Fantini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Torres in the 38th minute of the match. When Adalberto Torres came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Aikivida fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adalberto Torres couldn't finish the play. Bernardinho Perez kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Santo's Beto Fantini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aílton Félix in the 44th minute of play. Adalberto Torres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Luiz Cardozo in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Beto Fantini saved Santo from getting behind.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adalberto Torres stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Santo's Beto Fantini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Santo from getting a goal against them. In the 52nd minute of the match Aikivida got a corner. Santo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dimo Abeijon ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 55th minute, Aikivida's Adalberto Torres dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. In the 65th minute Adalberto Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beto Fantini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 66th minute, when Adalberto Torres scored to the left of an out of position Beto Fantini, making the score, 0-5. Beto Fantini didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adalberto Torres went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Beto Fantini stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adalberto Torres's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. In the 80th minute, Pedro Luiz Cardozo fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Beto Fantini, passed just outside the right post. Aikivida's Dedé de Lima was substituted for Aloísio Prestes. Beto Fantini had great luck who in the 82ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Adalberto Torres from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Adalberto Torres struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Beto Fantini didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aikivida. 87 minutes into the match, Aikivida's Stasio Sala sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Beto Fantini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Beto Fantini was out of position in the 90 minute of play, and Adalberto Torres capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Adalberto Torres really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. Dedé de Lima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Beto Fantini made a huge save. In the 94th minute, Dedé de Lima reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Beto Fantini. The goal made the score 0-8. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Aikivida had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
