Luiz Guilherme Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urtsin Verges in the 23rd minute of the match. Luiz Guilherme Matos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Paulo Couto in the 30th minute of play. If Guto Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Horácio Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Urtsin Verges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 38 minutes, Mauro de Andrade mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fluminense Football Club and the Santo players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Santo booed when Fluminense Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fluminense Football Club's Luiz Guilherme Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urtsin Verges in the 81st minute of play. Beto Fantini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gil Maciel, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 89th minute, Urtsin Verges got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. It was a brilliant solo performance by Santo's Guto Vidal when he shot the ball into the net to 0-1 in the 94th minute. When the final whistle sounded Santo left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Fluminense Football Club.
