In the 26th minute Elano de Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beto Fantini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elano de Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santo's Edinho Queiroz got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 34 minutes, Walmyr Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmorindo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walmyr Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Evandro Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardinho Perez in the 38th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the game, Horácio Cruz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palmorindo the free kick. The supporters of Palmorindo booed when Santo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horácio Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Evandro Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urtsin Verges in the 45th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urtsin Verges in the 46th minute of play forced Palmorindo's goalkeeper Evandro Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horácio Cruz struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Evandro Correia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santo.

Walmyr Abreu took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Beto Fantini. Beto Fantini dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. In the 78th minute, Guto Vidal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Palmorindo's Evandro Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urtsin Verges in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Daniel da Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Urtsin Verges struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Evandro Correia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santo. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmorindo's goalkeeper Evandro Correia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Palmorindo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
