After a defensive mix-up in Cães Vadios MZ's zone, Walmyr Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernandinho Furtado came out of the goal and Walmyr Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fernandinho Furtado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elano de Almeida's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. When Osmar de Sousa fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cães Vadios MZ's protests and gave Osmar de Sousa a yellow card for diving instead. Osmar de Sousa hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Edinho Donatello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Evandro Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walmyr Abreu succeeded in the game's 44th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1.

Elano de Almeida struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Fernandinho Furtado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmorindo. Cães Vadios MZ's Fernandinho Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elano de Almeida in the 70th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cães Vadios MZ's José Carlos Cavalcante got a free kick in the 70th minute. The supporters of Palmorindo booed when Cães Vadios MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osmar de Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernandinho Furtado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmyr Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Roger de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Palmorindo's Elano de Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 90 minutes into the game, Walmyr Abreu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Fernandinho Furtado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Walmyr Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
