Omori F.C.'s Waldir Faria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Vaz in the 6th minute of play. Edu Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Washington Paraense hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 18 minutes into the match, Omori F.C.'s goalkeeper Waldir Faria had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valdo de Lara. After a defensive mix-up in Heliópolis FC's zone, Jairo Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinei Dantas came out of the goal and Jairo Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Waldir Faria stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdo de Lara's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. After having played for 36 minutes, Natanael Vargas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Heliópolis FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Natanael Vargas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The throw-in from Washington Paraense in the 44th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Heliópolis FC's Carlinhos Alvarenga. Valdo de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Waldir Faria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valdo de Lara made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Dé Siqueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Valdo de Lara came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Heliópolis FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdo de Lara couldn't finish the play. After 58 played minutes Omori F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Gualter Mattos. After 61 minutes, Claudinei Trancoso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Heliópolis FC and the Omori F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 61st match minute, Heliópolis FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Doriva Loyola got free with Claudinei Dantas in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Waldir Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdo de Lara in the 73rd minute of play. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diamantino Paulista in the 90th minute of play forced Omori F.C.'s goalkeeper Waldir Faria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
