Nilmar Rodrigues charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Glauco Sampaio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enio Pitta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Régis Sanches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Trinca Ferro's Raúl Nascimento got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Régis Sanches had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Glauco Sampaio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Trinca Ferro's Glauco Sampaio in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Guarulhos FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 32nd minute of the match Trinca Ferro got a corner. Guarulhos FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Glauco Sampaio ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Glauco Sampaio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Guarulhos FC's Enio Pitta did a great save. Enio Pitta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Glauco Sampaio's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Enio Pitta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Glauco Sampaio in the 37th minute of play. Guarulhos FC's Enio Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glauco Sampaio in the 42nd minute of play. Glauco Sampaio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Guarulhos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Glauco Sampaio came free, but Enio Pitta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amílton Miranda to make the kick off. Hudson Félix didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 56th minute, which inside left pole to 0-1. Glauco Sampaio ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Prata in the 85th minute of play forced Trinca Ferro's goalkeeper Hudson Félix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87thth minute of the game Glauco Sampaio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guarulhos FC's Enio Pitta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vicente do Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guarulhos FC's goalkeeper Enio Pitta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Vicente do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Although Trinca Ferro had been in control for most of the match, Guarulhos FC still came away with the win.
