Ricardo Brancos short, quick shot in the 4thth minute got Beppe Pozzo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 7 minutes into the match, Paulo-Henrique Pato notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ceará's Leonardo Fernandes. Leonardo Fernandes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Beppe Pozzo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ricardo Branco in the 11th minute. After having played for 14 minutes, Jan Ové managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CorinGunners F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan Ové was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The corner led CorinGunners F.C.'s Maksymilian Lesiecki to fire away a dangerous shot which Leonardo Fernandes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 37thth minute of the game Jan Ové who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ceará's Leonardo Fernandes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Beppe Pozzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dário Albuquerque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emílio de Carvalho in the 44th minute of play forced CorinGunners F.C.'s goalkeeper Beppe Pozzo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jan Ové to make the kick off. Jan Ové struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Leonardo Fernandes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CorinGunners F.C.. In the 54th minute, Jan Ové made a precise shot to the right of Leonardo Fernandes. Ceará's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dário Albuquerque in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Beppe Pozzo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Jan Ové managed to get in a good position for a shot. CorinGunners F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Jan Ové was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonardo Fernandes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulo-Henrique Pato could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Leonardo Fernandes made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Ceará's zone, Paulo-Henrique Pato stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonardo Fernandes came out of the goal and Paulo-Henrique Pato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Antônio Madureira fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ceará's protests and gave Antônio Madureira a yellow card for diving instead. Antônio Madureira hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. 78 minutes into the game, Vitinho de Sena recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Leonardo Fernandes. Vitinho de Sena showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. 82 minutes into the game, CorinGunners F.C.'s Jan Ové nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonardo Fernandes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. CorinGunners F.C.'s Belmiro Tinoco managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Eduardo Lucas in the 89 minute of the game. Beppe Pozzo came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Ceará's Ricardo Branco. But to his dismay, Ricardo Branco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Dário Albuquerque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beppe Pozzo having to interfere. CorinGunners F.C. played a much better game than Ceará and deserved their victory. The Ceará players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
