After 14 minutes of play Flamengo Football Club's Ernani Martins was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 14th minute, Ernani Martins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Hamílton Koehler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dário Albuquerque in the 58th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Flamengo Football Club's goalkeeper Hamílton Koehler had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardo Branco.
