Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ronaldo Nazario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dário Albuquerque, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Ricardo Branco in the 5thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ronaldo Nazario, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Daniel Cabral lost his temper 7 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The goalkeeper, Ronaldo Nazario, was totally fooled by Ceará's Gilberto Leite, who 9 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After a defensive mix-up in Trojaner Futebol Clube's zone, Ricardo Branco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronaldo Nazario came out of the goal and Ricardo Branco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Ceará's Dário Albuquerque slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ronaldo Nazario. That made the score 2-0 after 12 minutes of play. Vágner Pernambucano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Leonardo Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo Branco struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Ronaldo Nazario didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ceará. Dário Albuquerque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Dário Albuquerque's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronaldo Nazario was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Cristiano Materazzi hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Ricardo Branco who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Ronaldo Nazario when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Dário Albuquerque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldo Nazario having to interfere. In the 32nd match minute, Trojaner Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristiano Materazzi to maneuver through the defense. Vágner Pernambucano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Fernandes having to interfere. Vladimir Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Leonardo Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo Branco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Vágner Pernambucano made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Trojaner Futebol Clube's zone, Dário Albuquerque stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronaldo Nazario came out of the goal and Dário Albuquerque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th minute, Dário Albuquerque got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dário Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Ronaldo Nazario tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ronaldo Nazario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Branco in the 68th minute of play. Trojaner Futebol Clube's Ronaldo Nazario played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dário Albuquerque in the 69th minute of play. After 71 minutes of play, Ceará's Dário Albuquerque made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ronaldo Nazario was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ricardo Branco struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Ronaldo Nazario didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ceará. Leonardo Fernandes was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Percy Vaz.
