Rui Vander had several of the Pirarema AD's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 5 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Ricardo de Almeida as he didn't even see the shot coming. 2-0 became the score in the 9th minute when Niculae Marioteanu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ricardo de Almeida was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Niculae Marioteanu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-0 in the 23 minute of play. Décio Vergílio kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Pirarema AD's goalkeeper Ricardo de Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rui Vander. Rui Vander could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Ricardo de Almeida made a huge save. The supporters of GUARULHOS FC booed when Pirarema AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juninho Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Niculae Marioteanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. GUARULHOS FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Niculae Marioteanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo de Almeida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rui Vander was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Rui Vander's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardo de Almeida was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rui Vander in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo de Almeida saved Pirarema AD from getting behind. After 65 minutes, Alvaro Galbarruri made it 7-0 with a short kick to the right side. Pirarema AD's Ricardo de Almeida tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 71 minutes into the match, Niculae Marioteanu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo de Almeida. Pirarema AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Niculae Marioteanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. After 73 played minutes Pirarema AD got a freekick which was hit by Leonel de Alcântara. In the 75th match minute, GUARULHOS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dieguinho da Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo de Almeida came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by GUARULHOS FC's Niculae Marioteanu. But to his dismay, Niculae Marioteanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. Ricardo de Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niculae Marioteanu in the 84th minute of the match. After 85 played minutes Pirarema AD got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Paulo Oliveira. In the 86th minute, Leonel Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th match minute, Pirarema AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Paulo Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. When Rui Vander came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the GUARULHOS FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rui Vander couldn't finish the play. Ricardo de Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Vander, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The GUARULHOS FC fans' excitement grew in the 93rd match minute when GUARULHOS FC's Rui Vander looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 10-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. GUARULHOS FC fully deserved thier win.
