When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Waldir Pereira made a kick off. Teodoro Lemos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Arlindo Travassos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Marcinho Santana received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. In the 69th minute Isidro Serafo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arlindo Travassos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
