In the 9th minute Renan Mineiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arlindo Travassos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Canoeiros's Arlindo Travassos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Canoeiros from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Taucucúga booed when Canoeiros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dráusio Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Joélson Nóbrega in the 14th minute really tested Arlindo Travassos's skills. After some careless play in the Taucucúga defense, Marcos Schmidt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernardinho Teixeira. The Taucucúga fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernardinho Teixeira should have stopped the shot. Bernardinho Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cleiton Nunes in the 25th minute of the match. Tales Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Bernardinho Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Schmidt, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute, Cleiton Nunes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Canoeiros fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 55th minute, Canoeiros's Marcos Schmidt dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-3. A collision led to Taucucúga getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Jean Rossi hit a great ball. In the 61st minute, Renan Mineiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arlindo Travassos was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. 65 minutes into the match, Canoeiros's Marcos Schmidt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernardinho Teixeira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Anderson Arósio hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Taucucúga's goalkeeper Bernardinho Teixeira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arlindo Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renan Mineiro in the 74th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Taucucúga's goal looked a bit too open when Cleiton Nunes came free, but Bernardinho Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 4-4 when Marcos Schmidt sped through Taucucúga's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bernardinho Teixeira. 81 minutes into the match, Canoeiros's goal looked a bit too open when Jean Rossi came free, but Arlindo Travassos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Taucucúga's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
