Bernardo Magalhães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anderson Matorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 6th minute Anderson Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 7th minute Alfredinho Brodel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Red Bull Sumaré's goal looked a bit too open when João Vítor Hoffmann came free, but Bernardo Magalhães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th match minute, E.C. Itajaí was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredinho Brodel to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Red Bull Sumaré's Teodoro Lemos got a free kick in the 14th minute. When Luís Gustavo Linhares fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored E.C. Itajaí's protests and gave Luís Gustavo Linhares a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th minute, Luís Gustavo Linhares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 16th minute, Red Bull Sumaré's Teodoro Lemos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 23 minutes into the match, E.C. Itajaí's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Lemos came free, but João Augusto Custódio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anderson Matorin struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Bernardo Magalhães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E.C. Itajaí. Bernardo Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredinho Brodel in the 26th minute of play. After some careless play in the Red Bull Sumaré defense, João Vítor Hoffmann kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernardo Magalhães. The Red Bull Sumaré fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernardo Magalhães should have stopped the shot. In the 33rd minute Anderson Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the game, E.C. Itajaí's Anderson Matorin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bernardo Magalhães made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 44th minute, Jacobo Gregory hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 45 minutes of play, E.C. Itajaí's Anderson Matorin made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bernardo Magalhães was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half E.C. Itajaí were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anderson Matorin made a kick off. E.C. Itajaí's Anderson Matorin was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 51st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 60th minute Anderson Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfredinho Brodel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Bernardo Magalhães made a huge save. Bernardo Magalhães made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Alfredinho Brodel sent off a good shot on target. A sloppy throw-in by Tiaguinho Pereira in the 67th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Red Bull Sumaré's Marcinho Santana. Marcinho Santana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. João Augusto Custódio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anderson Matorin in the 69th minute of play forced Red Bull Sumaré's goalkeeper Bernardo Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Red Bull Sumaré's zone, Anderson Matorin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardo Magalhães came out of the goal and Anderson Matorin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. E.C. Itajaí's Anderson Matorin got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Isidro Serafo fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Red Bull Sumaré's protests and gave Isidro Serafo a yellow card for diving instead. Red Bull Sumaré's Bernardo Magalhães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Red Bull Sumaré from getting a goal against them. In the 82nd minute, Alfredinho Brodel made a precise shot to the right of Bernardo Magalhães. Red Bull Sumaré's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. With a little luck, Red Bull Sumaré's Bernardo Magalhães got control of the ball when João Vítor Hoffmann tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bernardo Magalhães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Vítor Hoffmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 94th minute, Dorian de Souza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernardo Magalhães was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-7. E.C. Itajaí played a much better game than Red Bull Sumaré and deserved their victory. The Red Bull Sumaré players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
