Marcelinho Leite made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cido Luz in the 14th minute. A collision led to Gaviões Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Luiz Fabiano de Almeida hit a great ball. Gaviões Futebol Clube's Tião Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eurico Vidal in the 20th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Artur Vinhas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eunapolitano FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Artur Vinhas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tião Galvão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Wesley de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Eunapolitano FC's Marcelinho Leite got control of the ball when Luiz Fabiano de Almeida tried to sneak it across the goal line. Almir Pereira hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After 39 played minutes Gaviões Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Victor Simões. Leonel Peres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Almir Pereira sped through Gaviões Futebol Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tião Galvão.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Fabiano de Almeida stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Almir Pereira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tião Galvão. Almir Pereira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Silas Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tião Galvão having to interfere. Ricardinho Chaves replaced Cido Luz. Joélson Proença made in the 75th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Silas Meira. The crowd rose to their feet as Eunapolitano FC's Leonel Peres slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tião Galvão. That made the score 1-4 after 78 minutes of play. 82 minutes into the match, Eunapolitano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardinho Chaves came free, but Marcelinho Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Eurico Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaviões Futebol Clube made a substitution. Aírton Siqueira replaced Pedro Luís Cavalcante. 92 minutes into the match, Eunapolitano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardinho Chaves came free, but Marcelinho Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Gaviões Futebol Clube supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Eunapolitano FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Eunapolitano FC.
