The goalkeeper, José Paulo Couto, was totally fooled by Riachinho's Wellington Lopez, who 12 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Kids Graça's Lino Meirelles got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alan Jacinto kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. When Delfim Velasco fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. After 64 played minutes, Riachinho's Wellington Lopez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Paulo Couto came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Riachinho reached it. José Paulo Couto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bebeto de Medeiros in the 70th minute of play. In the 93rd match minute, Kids Graça was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino Meirelles to maneuver through the defense.
