But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Jacinto couldn't finish the play. Cipriano Catarinense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 35th minute Cauã Porto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cipriano Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kazimierz Modrzewski hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. When Ricardinho Matos came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Libertadores fans jumped to their feet. Libertadores's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when André Jacinto scored to the left of an out of position Hélio Neiva, making the score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Arabela's Válter Furtado got a free kick in the 66th minute. Luiz Guilherme Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. When Luiz Guilherme Diniz fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arabela's protests and gave Luiz Guilherme Diniz a yellow card for diving instead. Cipriano Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardinho Matos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
